🍷 The Beaujolais Run Returns!
We’re thrilled to say that Alistair from Heritage Cellars will once again be taking on the Beaujolais Run — the legendary dash from France to the UK — to bring us the 2025 Domaine De La Couvette Beaujolais Nouveau, fresh from the vineyards of Beaujolais itself.
This isn’t just any delivery — it’s a true race against time to get the first bottles of the new vintage across the Channel and into your glass at The Blue Bell!
🇫🇷 What Is Beaujolais Day?
Beaujolais Day is one of France’s most famous wine celebrations, held on the third Thursday of November each year. It marks the official release of the Beaujolais Nouveau, a young, vibrant red wine made from Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region, just north of Lyon.
By French law, no bottle can be sold or opened before midnight on release day, making it a huge global event for wine lovers everywhere. The tradition began in the 1950s, when winemakers raced to deliver their new vintage to Paris, and it quickly became a full-blown celebration of food, wine and friendship.
Today, Beaujolais Day is all about savouring that first sip of the year’s harvest — light, fruity, and full of fresh flavour — and we can’t wait to share it with you here in Emsworth.
✨ Join the Celebration!
Spaces are limited, and this event always sells out fast.
Call 01243 373394 to book your table (£5 deposit required) and join us for a Beaujolais Night to remember.
Because some traditions are just too good not to toast. 🍷
