It’s British Tomato Fortnight, and we’re showing some serious love to the little red legends that pack a punch on your plate. Juicy, sweet, and bursting with flavour – we’re talking about tomatoes, but not just any tomatoes… Isle of Wight Tomatoes. These beauties are the real deal.
Grown just across the water, Isle of Wight Tomatoes are hand-picked and sun-ripened in greenhouses that soak up more sunshine than anywhere else in the UK. No wonder they taste like summer on a fork. We reckon they’re some of the best you’ll ever eat – and we don’t say that lightly.
Here at the Blue Bell, we use these top-notch toms in loads of our dishes – from fresh, zingy salads to our rich pasta sauces and even garnishes that turn simple plates into something special. You’ll find them starring in our specials throughout British Tomato Fortnight, so keep an eye on the board.
We’re proud to champion local growers, and Isle of Wight Tomatoes are a cracking example of the good stuff happening right on our doorstep. 🍅
