Exploring Chichester Harbour
Chichester Harbour is of national and international importance for landscape and nature conservation and is a special place for wildlife. A wide variety of animals and creatures live in and around the Harbour – some are very easy to spot, whereas others may be hidden in the intertidal mud or in the water, making them less obvious. As you walk or sail here, you are bound to see something special.Some of the habitats and wildlife are internationally important, so they are protected by international legislation. Wetlands are one of the most threatened and diminishing habitats throughout Europe. Therefore, places such as Chichester Harbour and parts of the southeast of England are special because these wetland areas, and the intertidal mud, provide food for many important bird species.
Trips on Terror start and finish at Emsworth’s Yacht Harbour, a short distance from The Blue Bell Inn. Such a perfect combination – two hours of gentle sailing followed by a pint or glass of wine and some beautifully prepared, locally sourced food.

Other ways to get to The Blue Bell
By Road – Emsworth is on the A259 between Havant and Chichester. There is a pay and display car park in South Street and others to the north of the A259.
By Rail – Emsworth Station is on the South Coast line between Southampton and Brighton/London Victoria.
By Bus – Service No 700 between Portsmouth and Chichester.
By Boat – There is a deep water pontoon and a drying jetty closer to the town with access for 3.5 hours each side of high water, (neap tides).
